Tally: create registration forms and surveys

Build event registrations, contact forms and surveys in a document-style editor. Check free-plan limits and how files and responses are shared.

What can you do with it?

An event registration collected through messages can scatter names, choices and follow-up details across conversations. Tally turns questions typed in a document-style editor into a shareable form. You can show different questions for different answers and review submissions together. Start with the information you actually need and decide who should see it. This is an introduction to an external service; Kitvilo does not collect or store the responses.

Key features

  • Write questions with document-style blocks

  • Show different questions with conditional logic

  • Share a link, embed a form and export responses

Getting started

  1. Write down the purpose and deadline, then keep only questions you will use. Do not request every contact detail by default. Offer clear choices and reconsider any sensitive information.
  2. Open a form on the official site, add a title and explanation, then use / to insert text, choice, date or upload blocks. Make only essential questions required.
  3. Add conditional logic where an answer should change the next question. Try each branch in Preview. If you set a closing date or response limit, check the closing condition and message too.
  4. Test the shared link on a phone and computer before distributing it. Check long explanations, upload requirements, validation and the confirmation page. Explain why you collect personal details and who can view them.
  5. Review submissions and export a CSV or use a connected table when needed. Check access for collaborators and integrations separately. Review access to exported attachment links, then decide what to retain or delete when the event ends.

Before you use it

  • The Free plan allows unlimited forms and submissions within fair use; free uploads are limited to 10MB per file. Official monthly billing is Pro US$29/month and Business US$89/month. Annual-billing equivalents can differ; check the billing period, taxes and checkout total.
  • Branding removal, custom domains and some advanced notifications require paid plans. Free does not mean every feature or sustained high-volume use is included. Check the current plan for the feature you need.
  • Responses and files go to Tally. Its upload guide notes that exporting attachment URLs to a spreadsheet can let people with access to that sheet open them without a Tally login. Limit collected data, sharing and integration access, and set a retention policy.
